The Commercials You Shouldn't Tivo Through...

So I am loving my advertising class. I thought I would share two commercials we watched in class this last week that I thought were particularly entertaining, Not so much funny haha, but very well done and completely different. I had never seen these ads before. Both for the Sony Bravia, but be warned after watching these ads you may want to go and buy an outrageously expensive television.

The first time I saw this ad I was thinking CGI. But turns out there is a making of video out there as well and those are real bouncy balls, I guess like 170,000 super bowls launched through downtown San Francisco.

This took 5 days and about 60 people to clean up all that paint... but totally worth it.

Portion Distortion

http://www.epicurious.com/cooking/healthy/articles/portions1/ This is a link to an article I read on one of my favorite websites I use to get new recipes, etc. It's epicurious.com which is related to the Bon Apetit magazine as well as the Gourmet magazine. I read this article and wanted to share it with you all. Just click on the link to get to it. Maybe you guys aren't as interested in this as me. I read a lot of food articles especially related to health and whenever I read ones about the giant portion sizes of America I don't think I necessarily learn anything I didn't already know but its always a good reminder for me and gets my mind going. Portion distortion was one of the most commonly discussed subjects in all my culinary classes and seems to be something I've become pretty passionate about. It is INSANE the size of meals restaraunts serve these days and how much people get used to eating large and incharge servings. Anywho, I've gotta go watch 24! Happy reading! Happy reading, let me know what you guys think.

Sandy and Maria's Performance

Alright. For the benefit of all those (maybe just me) who have no bloody clue who Sandy and Maria are, perhaps someone could inform me so I can properly enjoy the pictures on our Fotki site :)

And I just really wanted to blog since I hadn't in a while. Later.

CHEAP DATE?

One would never want to be described as a cheap date, but finding an economical opportunity to continue bonding with your sweetheart is a good idea. I was just checking the Beaverton Border's website. They have some pretty good talent scheduled next month that you might want to put on your calendars.

February 2, 2007 @ 7:00 - Breanna Paletta - Who is she? The singer for Rye Hollow who is doing a solo set of songs from her new solo CD.

February 16, 2007 @ 8:30 - Doug Pettibone & Phil Parlapiano - Who are they? Doug is Lucinda William's guitarist and Phil plays with John Prine. They are promoting their new CD. Sounds like it might be interesting. The Dimes Duo plays at 7:00

All in all looks like a couple of outstanding shows for the right price, CHEAP!

Maybe we'll see ya.....DAD

Beware of THE COLD!

It started Sunday with the scratchy throat and head ache. By Monday there was sniffles and the fuzzy feeling in my head. It got me! Yes, I was attacked by the common cold. As common as they are, they're always miserable. I know Ksenia was attacked as well. It's almost got Drew in its grasp too. So family BEWARE, it is out to get you too. Stay true to the Airborne it will save you from miserable times and wash your hands as much as possible. Don't let THE COLD attack you too. It's a nasty one this year as they always say it will be. Don't work to hard and stay healthy!

24 = amazing

I thought I would make my mark on the blog by updating everyone on my current situation. I am back at BYU and getting excited about the semester. I am living at the branbury which is turning out to be great. The first impression was not good because the right off I noticed this awful smell in the apartment that no one else seemed to notice. I thought since these guys had lived here longer than I had and did not notice the smell, either I was crazy or it was their smell, you know, the one they radiate, or whatever. Luckily yesturday my third roomate came back from break to discover he had left an open gallon of egg nog in his bedroom. So I am not crazy and my roomates don't stink. My contact info: 1768 North 450 West Apt #104, so if any of you are in town you can come visit my now not so smelly but still recovering apartment.

Jack Bauer is back and hotter then ever!!!(uh...i read that somewhere) Also wanted to extend the invitation to all that we will be having a 24 get together throughout the whole season at my parents house. The Scarbrough household. If you can. please come on over, believe me there is nothing like 24 with a bunch of Scarbrough's. So here is a link really quick to check out the tailor for the new season. http://fox.com/24/trailer/index.htm Also if you need to catch up a bit on last season to re-spark the 24 fire of yours you can speak with my mother-in-law who currently is re-sparking that fire at the Everton home. Anyways thanks!

Google Groups

I am trying to create a google group for the whole family so that whenever there is an update to the blog that family members receive an email informing them of the update. If you have not yet, please accept the invitation to become a member of the RkEverton Google Group. I sent the email invite out back in the middle of december. Just find it and accept the invitiation. Then you can keep up with this little blog of ours. Thanks, Good night, and Good Luck.

If you received an Email notifying you of this post, then please leave a comment letting me know that. That is all.

-Zach
